• Bubblomania is a cool action-game, in which you have to catch bubbles using the pin on top of the screen. There are different types of bubbles : bubbles containing bonus points, lasers, bombs, an extra pin, or other good stuff. There are the cross bubbles to be avoided, and the killer bubbles to make your life miserable. And offcourse the magic bubbles, which have much control over the game.
You can increase the difficulty by selecting the 'Always Shaking', 'Difficult Game' and/or the 'Fast As Lightning' options in the preferences dialog, where you can also change the keys. Use Command-P or TAB to pause the game, and Command-E or ESC to abort the game. There's more help included in the game.
Topscores can only be obtained by concentrated and cool players!
• Hardware requirements :
Minimal requirements are a PowerPC 601 MacOS compatible with 256 colors, a 640x480 screen and 2800 KB of RAM. The game is designed for thousands of colors, so it's highly recommended to switch to 16 bit, unless your computer doesn't support a 640*480 resolution in 16 bit.
• System requirements :
Bubblomania needs system 7 or higher, and QuickTime installed.
• The game is succesfully tested on my PowerMac 6100/60 under system 7.1.2 and system 7.6.1 with a 640x480 screen, and on a PowerMac 4400/200 running system 7.5.3 and system 7.6.1 with several resolutions. It's also compatible with system 8 !
• Gamespeed Info :
When you choose this option, the game shows you the average frames per second of the game you are playing. The maximum framerate is 32 frames per second. Slow PowerMacs may have a slower framerate when rising and falling little bubbles are enabled in the preferences dialog.
When you play with the 'Difficult game' option, the maximum framerate will be 40 frames per second.
• Notes :
- If the pin is moving too slow, try to adjust the keyboard repetition speed.
- To prevent the game from fading, hold the command-key when launching it.
